A committee structure within NIPHC is used to build a consensus on direction and action prior to board endorsement. Committees provide a mechanism to network, share activities, best practices, challenges, and learning opportunities. Membership is comprised of local health department staff and partners in the respective areas. Committees serve as content experts in their fields and are classified as discipline-specific (Chronic Disease, Emergency Response, Environmental Health, Food Protection, Infectious Disease, STI/HIV) or supporting (Epidemiology, Legislative, Communications).
